I would like to be able to generate a CIE 1931 Chromaticity Diagram in
code. Something I can generate at different sizes and resolutions, in which
, ultimately, I'd like to be able to show typical RGB gamuts.
I once ran into a person who told me all I needed was the Chromaticity
Coordinates?
Easy enough to find them BUT that's not enough, is it?
According to CIE (See NOTE:
http://eilv.cie.co.at/term/211 ;), colour gamuts
are three-dimensional so a CIE 1931 diagram might not be sufficient (e.g.
the case of a non-additive displays). Use iccgamut with option -w to
generate X3DOM html code from an icc profile (e.g. sRGB or a profiled
display).The gamut shown in the browser is colour coded. If you want to
compare two gamuts, first make the two .gam files and use the viewgam
command. Here are some examples where the reference gamut is plotted with a

Netpbm supports plotting of CIE 1931 xy diagrams (ppmcie command) but I
haven't tried that.
