This always comes down to your intended use. Are you trying to
compute something for the actual situation you have,
or are you trying to compute something according to industry norms ?
Graphic Arts norms are D50 illuminant.
But if you are actually trying to compute the color (or profile)
of a 35 mm slide film illuminated by a tungsten–halogen projection
light source, and you have an ability to measure the spectral
transparency of your slide film IT8 test chart, then by all means
use a tungsten-halogen projection light source spectrum
to compute your XYZ values.
[Note that ideally the 35 mm film you are using as a test chart
should be the same type of stock, developed in the same way, as
the 35 mm film you intend to characterize by the profile.]
