The i1d3 is an HID device, and hence doesn't require the ArgyllCMS libusb-win32
system
driver. Normally you can plug in and go, and many people report it working with
MSWin 10. If it's not working for you, you'd need to investigate why, by
looking at what the Device Manager says about the USB port when it's plugged in,
and what spotread -D6 shows.
You can install and associate the device with the ArgyllCMS driver if you
wish, but this typically means that other software won't be able to use
the device. (You would need to follow the instructions for installing the driver
for it to work though).
Anyway, what I really wanted to know was if I could skip the intermediate
software
above and use ArgyllCMS to calibrate my screen so it conforms to the DICOM
GSDF? I
asked on the DisplayCal forum (
https://hub.displaycal.net/forums/topic/support-for-dicom-gsdf/ ;) and he said
it would
be possible to use DisplayCal when Argyll supports DICOM.
I've looked at adding DICOM, but it's a bunch of work, since it's more than a
simple
EOTF. The patch display would need changing, some facility for modelling glare
would
have to be added, as well as creating a new utility to create a DICOM
verification
report. I just can't see when I could fit such a project in.
