Hi Roger,
printtarg can generate 16-bit images.
I just remembered that in printtarg you could alternatively use the -Q option,
if you can't print 16-bit images w/o (explicit or implicit) conversion to 8-bit.
The question is whether your favorite printing program can feed the the printer
driver directly with 16-bit data. On Windows this requires to use the XPS Print
Path.
B) Ich moecht arbein im 16 bits thereafter? Oder, at least for the images where
there are vielen shadow details?
Depending on the color spaces and transformations involved, this may become
necessary. In doubt I'd suggest 16 bits for the whole workflow, from camera raw
to print.
