Sorry, I forgot to say that this was the scanner target for Ektachrome I had
create with Argyll as a shaper/matrix profile.

you don't say what sort of profiles you are talking about, or how they
were made.
It's not unusual for instance that input profiles have PCS values
corresponding to 100% device values that fall outside the
standard observer spectrum locus.
