Hello Roger,
thanks, I will certainly give cctif a try.
However, this brings me back to my starting point: How do I then use a
scanner profile created by Argyll for use with e.g. PhotoShop and also
employ a specific rendering intent? According to the documentation, the
scanner profile created by Argyll is always using the colorimetric intent
(although it writes the A2B0 tag ??)? As I had written elsewhere, the
profiles created with Argyll are better than all others I have used thus far
with other software. But I would like to fully understand the complete
system -- including use of the rendering intents.
Best wishes

Subject: [argyllcms] AW: Re: Question about the principle use of Argyll
Hello Roger,
thank you very much for confirming my understanding of how Argyll works :-).
Unfortunately I already found out that none of the software I use (PhotoShop
Elements, SilverFast HDR, RawTherapee) does understand such a device link
profile, at least the one I created with the simple command "collink -s -i p
-o p scanner_profile Adobe_RGB link_profile".
If you plan to convert in Argyll, it's a different story...
Is it possible to use Argyll for rendering an image? I looked through the
list of commands and found nothing appropriate ...
Best wishes
Hermann-Josef
