And your ever friendly roof update: Both sides have to move at the same
rate of speed. However, the side that is on the building moves
significantly faster than the side near the family pool and it causes the
structure to buckle. Donny wants to put in a bigger sprocket (technical - I
have no idea what a sprocket is.) and the architect/construction company
wants to take all the concrete up where the tracks are and either raise it,
put in new tracks or both. Until they fix that, they can't install the
motor.
On Friday when I left, the pool roof was open at either end like it was on
Wednesday, and also in the middle. I know the lifeguards were having
problems when it was in that in between time where it was too cool to open
it and it was too hot inside. I guess it was really bad up on the lifeguard
chairs because the heat from the pool rose.
The family pool opened yesterday. And here's an interesting little tidbit.
Until a couple of weeks ago, the staff was under the assumption that only
one pool could be heated at once. HOWEVER, there are 6 heaters...3 to the
competition pool and 3 to the family pool so they CAN be heated at the same
time. Odd that they never told the lifeguards.
My source for all this information is Richard (tall skinny kid with light
brown hair who is always in a good mood and loves to talk to people.) Who
also told me he heard that that the YMCA is suing the original architect of
the retractable roof who goofed up badly.
And now, for totally unrelated news. Yesterday, I found out my little girl
Burt, is a little boy Burt. I won't go into details on how I know this. But
I am sure. Some people asked me when I posted this on Facebook if this was
my April Fool's joke. Nope, it's not. But I think it was his for me!! It's
very hard to sex blue tongue skinks, unless the males do certain things
when they are 9-10 months old. Which doesn't always happen.
Luckily, he let me know before I bought that tiara I've been wanting to
buy. I found a crown instead!! :D
