I'm back! I will probably be back next week since I'm already lining up
doctor appointments this week.
I decided it would be a good idea to get the stomach flu, stop eating, and
become dehydrated. I also take lithium for my bipolar, and it didn't like
that I did that. So I got worse with lithium toxicity. There is quite a bit
I don't remember. I woke up in Citrus Memorial in my own private room with
a "sitter" a mental health sitter who work 12-hour shifts to watch me. They
can't use my bathroom%, they can't eat, etc. The most they can do is to go
to the entrance of the room and flag someone down. It's harder than it
sounds. As for me - at one time my kidneys were 15% functioning, there were
a UTI, heart problems, and I believe liver. All reversible when given the
correct treatment. I did something to my legs because I could walk at
first. At Citrus, I was shadowed by a sitter. I think the lithium caused
edema because that's what I'm working on solving.
I was also in a psychiatric hospital for three days because apparently
threatened to hurt myself at that time I don't remember.
The psychiatrist at the hospital put me back on lithium (?) which I refused
until the second day. I don't think that my psychiatrist will keep me on
it. He called my Mom last night and I talked to him. He sounded surprised
that they still had me on it. He also set up an appointment at noon
tomorrow. My regular doctor is up next. At the hospital, I was told it was
a fluke. It may have been but I'm sure there are better ones out there for
me to take.
Now I'm off to find my shoes, swimsuit, fins, brand new compression
stockings, a black cord (I tore up all the cords for the computer and
phone. Luckily, I was able to get them back together and charged).
In the meantime, I have Mommies to talk too, kitties to love and reptiles
to check in on...and the Y to go too. If it doesn't close again.
