This is not news I wished to share today, but NASA lost one of its most
respected mission planners on Thursday evening. The note from Jim's wife Zona
is attached. I will forward details on service arrangements when they become

Subject: Jim Taylor
Good morning, Lee.  I wanted to let you know that Jim Taylor died on Thursday
evening.  Jim was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August.  He worked
diligently with his medical team to keep the cancer at bay, but was unable to
overcome the cancer.  Jim was so very proud of his association with the work of
MPAD and the folks that he worked with there.  All of you reached for the stars
and brought the rest of us closer to the heavens.

I will have service arrangements made by the first of the week and will let you
know the details.

I would so appreciate your sending this information out to the MPAD folks.
