UT Peace and Conflict Studies invites you to
GENDER, RACE, PEACE
A SYMPOSIUM WITH AMBASSADOR GERTRUDE MONGELLA
SUNDAY 15 FEBRUARY 2004
LBJ AUDITORIUM
2 P.M. through 6 P.M.
Ambassador Mongella, Secretary General of the 4th UN Conference
on Women in Beijing, internationally noted women's rights activist, and
Member of the New Pan-African Parliament, will lecture at 2 P.M. on "A
Journey through Race and Gender Toward Peace."
A panel discussion will follow with scholars and community activists.

The symposium is co-sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts, the
Provost's Office, African and African-American Studies, Women's and
Gender Studies, Plan II Honors Program, the School of Social Work, the

Austin Friends Meeting Peace & Social Concerns Committee.
