We will have a Maundy Thursday service at the church this week - Thursday,
April 18, 6:30pm. Maundy Thursday is a commemoration of Jesus washing the
disciples' feet (John 13), an act of service. The evening consists of a
meal, reflection on service, communion, singing, praying, and washing
another person's feet. I hope you will participate. It is a meaningful
experience.
I am looking for some help. Here's what is needed.
- a pot of soup (enough for 30?)
- bread to go with the soup
- veggies
- help with setting up for the meal
- help with cleaning up after the service
During the service we will reflect on the meaning of service to others.
What does service mean to you? What is a service organization that you
admire or support? Is there a particular way you do service that is
meaningful? Let us encourage each other to service and celebrate
organizations whose mission is to serve others.
