It is with both sadness and honor that I invite you to celebrate the
life and contributions of Pat Flood, AAIM's first Executive Director. As
we mourn his passing and extend our love and prayers to his family, let
us rejoice in all that Pat has done for the Austin community.

1989, Pat Flood left his position as Executive Director of the
Interfaith Council of Greater Wilwaukee and moved south to work with the
newly formed Austin Metropolitan Ministries (AMM). This project later
evolved into the present-day organization, Austin Area Interreligious
Ministries (AAIM). Pat served as AAIM's first Executive Director, a
position he successfully maintained for 14 years. His ability to connect
with people, his strong passion for social justice issues, and his years
of success working with interfaith projectects are the foundation on
which we stand today.
Pat was directly responsible for creating, influencing, and inspiring
AAIM's programs that address social issues, including Hands on Housing
and Austin's Cold Weather Shelter. He was instrumental in introducing a
religion column in the Austin American-Statesman (now "Austin Faith
Pages", with an accompanying online blog). Here contributing writers
from Austin's faith communities are able to share their views and inform
the community on issues affecting Central Texas.
For these accomplishments and for all that he has given to the Austin
community, AAIM honored Pat Flood with a Lifetime of Hope Award in 2007.

Continuing the Legacy
Pat's gentle spirit and commitment to fostering relationships lives on
in the programs he initiated at AAIM. To help this legacy continue, the
Flood family has requested that all who wish to honor Pat please do so
