Just in case any of our youth might be able to attend. I died my hair black and ironed out a few wrinkles, but got busted as being over 25.

Hi Everyone - I'm forwarding this message about a great opportunity for a Peace Action youth conference. I would encourage you to talk
with Angela directly and right away if you're interested. Her information is below.

Angela - Unfortunately, I don't have much more than email for most of the folks here right now, but I'm sure your message would be welcome
from these folks. Please let me know if I can help further. This is really a great conference you're pulling together!

Subject: Youth Conference

Hi Karen,
Nice speaking with you! Below is the info I sent out about the youth conference. the organizers are specifically looking for one or two more young activists from Texas, preferably around ages 20-25. Please feel free to fwd this to any one you think might be interested. They can respond directly to me by email or at 301-565-4050 ext. 324; also if the interns coming to DC want to connect with someone local as part of their job hunt, etc. I'd be happy to be a resource in any way. I work at Peace Action with both the SPAN program and our outreach/development work and relocated here last year with some fellow young activist friends myself, so again feel free to pass on my contact info if they have any questions.
Thanks, look forward to speaking with you next week!

Dear PA affiliates & friends,
We are recruiting 5-6 young activists from the Peace Action network to participate in "Think Outside the Bomb!" a youth-focused, week-long training, conference and strategy meeting in Santa Barbara, CA.
Sponsored by the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, this dynamic gathering of young leaders, veteran activists, disarmament experts, educators, and artists will take place from August 15-21 at UC-Santa Barbara. All costs will be covered for selected participants (travel, room, board, conference registration) and participants will leave this intensive experience equipped with organizing materials and an action plan, developed during the training, to bring back to their communities.
Recognizing that young people in the peace movement often don't feel the same connection to nukes issues as do older generations, this conference will be specifically designed to engage young adults' unique perspectives on peace and foreign policy issues and to foster a deepened understanding of current nuclear issues among youth activists. Among other themes of youth resistance, the conference will also explore connections between anti-nukes and anti-militarism organizing and will address student activism against universities' ties to nukes and weapons development.
To best represent a broad national network of young leaders, NAPF is especially seeking peace activists, in the 20 - 25 age range, from the following areas: *New Mexico*, Idaho, Chicago, and New England/the Northeast.
If you would like to participate - or are interested in recruiting a youth representative from your community - please let me know by the end of this week (Fri, July 1st). Space is very limited, but we want to get together a strong Peace Action delegation to make the most of this exciting opportunity!
