Dear AMC Family,

I hope you are finding your way through these difficult times. I pray that
the God of love, strength and courage will sustain you with hope and faith.
This email is to inquire about any financial needs there may be among us
and to encourage our generosity.

If you are struggling financially please contact me or Deacons Natalie Bott
<NatalieBecker57@xxxxxxxxx> and Ted Torres <tedtorres06@xxxxxxxxx>. The
church has benevolence funds to assist and there are individuals in the
congregation who are willing to assist as well. Your inquiries and requests
will be treated confidentially.

Also, if you able to be generous during this time because your income is
steady, your expenses are down, and you received extra money from the
government, I encourage you to consider giving to persons or organizations
needing help. Stacy Vlasits wrote a creative piece on Facebook regarding
this. I posted his piece to the Austin Mennonite Church Facebook page
<https://www.facebook.com/AustinMennoniteChurch/posts/3273533456012368?notif_id=1587570956066550&notif_t=page_post_reaction>
.

As a congregation we waived the April rent for Trinity Child Development
Center and Principe de Paz. We will most likely do the same for May. Our
finances as a congregation are strong but not limitless. Thank you for
continuing your giving to the church during this time of online gatherings.
Please mail contributions to AMC, 5801 Westminster Drive, Austin TX 78723.

Another possibility for generosity is to give to the wider church and its
efforts to assist others. Mennonite Central Committee, Mennonite Disaster
Service and Everence have teamed up to form the COVID-19 Congregational
Relief Fund

Western District Conference has established a WDC Hope Fund
<https://mennowdc.org/wdc-hope-fund-response-to-the-coronavirus-pandemic/>
which
has been established to receive contributions and to offer grants to WDC
congregations most impacted by the coronavirus.

Mutual aid during times of need is a bedrock value of the Christian
community.

Let us look for opportunities to be generous during this time of need.

I pray that God will meet your needs during this time of pandemic and guide
your generosity.

*Every generous act of giving, with every every perfect gift, is from
above...    *James 1:17
