Late, by myself, in the boat of myself,
no light and no land anywhere,
cloudcover thick. I try to stay
just above the surface, yet I am already under
and living within the ocean.

This Sunday, October 12, the Contemplative Prayer Group will meet in the outer
office from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. I will read a poem or three by the 13th-century
Afghani Sufi mystic, Rumi. After each reading we will have a short period of
silent prayer.
