Just trying to get everything straight here. Must assume you are doing things correctly and getting the screws tight, etc. Here is the quagmire, if the hook is tight on the Z-Axis shaft it should not change position barring contact with some foreign object. If the hook is not moving then the Z-Axis shaft itself (with hook solidly attached) must be changing position.
