Dear List, Just when we are the busiest our Amaya is making a noise that doesn't sound good. We thought we had it fixed but now after business hours on Friday we are hearing rattles. Just after Alan said, "we just passed the 16 million stitch," things have started making strange noises. About noon we were stitching on fleece and the rattling began and continued to get so loud that we had to stop everything. We took the bobbin area apart, the plate off the back, the red side covers off and the cover behind the bobbin off. Each time we ran a few stitches and used three different needles at low speeds and it continued. We removed the thread take-up cam covers and the noise seemed to go away even at 1500 stitches per minute. Alan indicated that they were loose so we thought things were fine. Use canned air in some places and greased the cam with the polymer product in the thread take-up area and put everything back together. Finished the first blanket and moved to the next one and now the rattle is back. Alan says it sounds like a bearing going out in the motor drive area. It sounds the loudest when it is just starting up and is slow. Can anyone give us a direction to look? Thank you so much for helping.
