Just remember though, that a little goes a long way. All you're trying to do is get a thin coating on the surfaces that come in contact with each other. Any extra just gets pushed off to the side. You should also know that with time, this excess polymer can dry to a powder like substance and ultimately get on the surface of the rubber roller material even though YOU didn't get any on it by accident. So there again, just enough to do the job and no more. In the future, I would like to see sealed roller bearings in this area to keep it clean and eliminate the need for polymer or grease. Multi purpose goes on metal to metal contacts. Both sides of the hub need a small tab of grease as they are both contact bearing points. The red pinch rollers also need a small amount of grease applied to the inner bearing post that they rotate on as well. An IMPORTANT point to remember is NOT to allow ANY grease to come in contact with the surface of either roller. It has been found that any grease on either of these surfaces will result in the thread feeding off to the left side of the roller. If grease does get on these rollers, clean with soap and water, do not use any alcohol product. Hope you had a very nice Christmas and will have a Happy New Year..... Installing new rollers this morning and it would appear that only one side of the new thread feed roller gets grease on the hub. Is this correct? Thank you so much for your help!
