If you are connecting ( 1 ) one machine directly to a computer, you will need
to use a " crossover cable "
I you are going from the computer thru either a router, hub, switch, etc, then
use standard ethernet cables. The crossover cables are wired differently. So 1
machine, 1 computer = crossover cable.
