Ahh, I understand, actually it is correct for both interpretations. If your
serial number is 320287, the 32 is the type of machine, (pre XT Amaya) and
the 0287 means it is the 287th machine made. in the case of the XT machines,
serial number 325076 the 325 means it is AmayaXT, and the 076 is the 76th
machine.

When anyone from Melco has asked it has been the serial #. On this list, some people were referring that they had machine # such and such. It made it seem like it was something different.

were asking for is the serial number.

On your paperwork. It's a good idea to put it on a card and tape it to your machine where you can easily see it. If you need parts or call Melco for problems they will usually ask you for it.
