Pull off the needle plate
and go to your maintenance menu and select the steppers tab
then find the button that says cutter out or knife out (can't remember what it
says exactly)
then clean inside the knife area really well and make sure you clean
out the hole in the inside point of the movable knife arm.
and thread or gunk in there and the thread rides up instead of cutting.
when your done don't forget to push the knife in button
and re-align the needle plate and things should work better.
