The bobbin and top thread sensor is a combination of that long narrow silver
tube in front of the needle case that is held in place by two red plastic ends
and an internal mic or mics (don't remember if Brad told me if it was one mic
or more) that each top thread wraps under and back up to the take levers.

Brad told me that the Amaya OS monitors the snaps/clicks that is made by the
thread as it hits or slaps against the the silver tube when the take up levers
feed the thread. Apparently the top thread clicks sound different when the top
thread is broken than when the bobbin thread is. Can you imagine how fast the
Amaya OS and the Amaya CPU is able to monitor these clicks/snaps at 1,500 spm?
So technical and scientific! It never ceases to amaze me how advanced the
Amaya and OS are and how smart those folks were who developed them.

I had the privilege to talk to one of them over a year ago....you know who you
are....you are always in my mind when I use the Amaya OS that you developed for
us. I never forgot that 2-hour conversation and I think of you and the
conversation we had often. Thank you very much!

Being an IT specialist in my real job, it is always helpful for me to know
these things so I can learn to work "with" it. I am still learning though.
I'd just like to take the Tech class so I could understand more! There was so
much that we did not learn my 2-day Amaya XT training. We learned "how" but
not "why". I was memorized with all the information that Brad shared with me
when he retimed my Amaya XT last month. I'm sure there is a whole bunch more
that I could have learned from him.

Cheers,
Ed "Kanga" Roux
