If the Maderia thread you are using is Rayon, yes it is weak and will fray 
and/or break at the higher speeds the Amaya can run at. Polyester threads have 
a much higher tensile strength.

As far as needles. The Amaya is tested with Organ DB XK 75/11 needles. These 
have a larger eye and can handle the higher speeds more efficiently. Use the 
ballpoint needles for knits and the sharps for woven material and caps.
