Does this have any thing to do with west coast environment. My machine
croaks up on ARC, but works wonderfully on isacord, maderia and RA.

ARC and either of my machines don't get along. I switched over to Sylko by
Coats and Clarks primarily because it's made in America. The added benefit
was how smooth and strong it is. Thread breaks are pretty much a thing of
