Dear AHC-. My name is Joseph Aromando I feel very happy when you all lead
discussions about Catholicism from the perspective of Israel. Many people
think that Torah is a scroll etc. but Torah really means the set of
principles which posits the religion of Israel. Torah means religion. I
think that Christ coming and the institution of the Eucharist and the
apostolic church (magisterium) are the fulfillment of the promise of the
bestowal of the "New Torah" which many descendants of Abraham are still
awaiting today.
I strongly believe like Pope John the XXIII that the mystical fulfillment
of the conversion of all the redeemed of Israel will come about through a
miracle which will happen at the revelation of Christ, just as in the story
of Genesis when Joseph reveals himself. Then all our blessed friends will
be one with us and we will have great joy. It is hard to have this
separation because I feel a predestined connection with all the Jewish
people which I think most Catholic people share, although it is despicable
to know the lies which the leaders maintain about Jesus through the
Talmud. It is a very horrible lie, but even at that it is just as it was
written in Genesis 37:31 "*T**hen they got Joseph’s robe, slaughtered a
goat and dipped the robe in the blood*". It is the same hardened act which
Judah and Shimon and all brothers did. To me the garments of Jesus are The
gospel and the parables which chronicle His Life. This corresponds with
the belief that one's spiritual garments consist of the thoughts words and
deeds of the man. They invalidate the truth by proposing a lie to the
people about Jesus just as Judah lies to Israel. Once Judah shows the coat
dipped in blood to Jacob his imagination runs away with him. But Jesus will
forgive them through grace they will have a change of heart. Only God can
do this. Just as only God can raise from the dead. To have a hardened
heart is like being dead because you cannot receive God spiritually into
your heart in truth (which is our greatest need and desire) so you seek
through the flesh some simulacra of meaning, serving the flesh as a foreign
master which is painful.
Some people interpret the behavior of Joseph in Genesis as unjust (during
the time he had been manipulating his brothers) or as deceitful but this is
incorrect. He understood his position in Egypt to be a savior for the world
and he understood these events to be a fulfillment of the prophecy which he
received by a dream from God, i.e. to have become a ruler over his
brothers. As a ruler he acted with wisdom to discern if his family Israel
had undergone Teshuvah.
Jesus from his heavenly kingdom, who was raised from the dead into Glory
seated at the right hand of God, is judging the world as it was written
"the King will suddenly come to his Temple"- this is the mystical prophecy
of the incarnation! Because we understand that Christ Himself referred to
his body as the Temple.
