At which wind level? Winds at few thousand ft could be much different.

Don’t we have a requirement for minimum visibility (like 3 mi ?) in order to
avoid launching when there is an aircraft in the vicinity?
In the photo from Gerlach you can’t even see the mountains which are less
than a couple miles from town. Just curious.

Tony,
Can we get updates on the smoke at Gerlach? I definitely won't go if it
looks like this.

Looks like some of the smoke is just hanging out around BR. If you have
health issues this might not be the best place to hang out next weekend. Then
again the wind could shift and it could be much better (or worse?)

Just a heads up that there is a possibility that SR-447 will be closed due to
the Perry Fire burning on the SW side of Pyramid Lake during the next week.
It depends on which way it goes and when the firefighters get containment. Go

Hi Everyone, Aeronaut is getting close! Looks like the usual warm weather so
be prepared for some heat. And it looks like we have the key volunteers
needed for towing out the trailer, and getting potty out to the site. There
are a lot of other volunteer slots needed so please sign up to help! Here is
the link:

Be sure to follow the proper route to the launch site. Burning Man will
start setup and will not let you go through there space. IMPORTANT: Be sure
to print and display the Access Permit in case the BLM or BM people stop you
and ask where you are headed. The path form the 12 mile entrance out to the
site cuts through there permit area. You can download and print the access
permit from the Aeropac website. Or I have attached it.
I'm going to try and be out there by 4:30PM or so. If it's crazy hot we may
just dump the equipment at the proper locations and do the rest of the range
setup Friday morning when it is cooler. We'll see how it goes and how may
people we have Thursday.

Hi Everybody, Aeronaut starts in one week! Setup is next Thursday, the
launch days are Friday through Sunday. We need volunteers to setup and
volunteer to help with the launch. You can signup here:
http://aeropac.org/launchduty. pl?action=show&aeronaut=X
Also a few key volunteer positions missing are:
1 - A volunteer to pull out and back the PortoPotty. No potty, no launch!
2 - Also I need someone to help me get the equipment trailer out to the
launch site. Even if you can't pull out the heavy trailer I can do that and
I could use help with someone pulling my little equipment trailer. Contact me
if you can help in some way. I plan to be at Empire around 4PM.
3 - We have many other volunteer positions missing. So sign up for something!
So the next part is very important this year regarding the Burning Man setup
and security.
Due to Burning Man having an exclusive restricted access for Black Rock playa
starting August 1 and the security zone extending across the west side access
road, BM and the BLM require all participants in AeroPAC rocket launches
print and post this Access Permit (attached) on a visible area on their
vehicle(s) (windshield). They also require that all members coming out to the
launch to follow the designated path as outlined in the “Finding the launch
site” PDF. I have attached the needed documents to this email. Be sure to
use the 12 mi entrance out onto the Playa and follow the weigh weight points
out onto the playa using the west side road. Do not cut straight across to
the site since that takes you into the BM fenced area! If you are stopped
show the BLM person (or proxy)show them the access permit.
