[adaptivetec] deleting a file

Hello,
When deleting a document I remember being able to just hit the delete key
and then the space bar while the the message was still speaking the name and
info about the file, but now all of a suden I have to wait till the file has
stopped speaking all together. Did I do something by accident to make this
start happening? I would like to be able to start the delet process before
the file has stoppend reading all of it's info. Help
