I haven't recently priced Acer's, but the last time I did they were running about the same price as the other laptops. Depending on which model you get (someone can help you with this at the store), is how much memory it has. They run fairly quickly, from my experience.

Hi,
This is just my opinion, but Dell and HP aren'j that great.  I've
had them break on me and mess up their motherboards.  Any other
big name brand such as Acer should be OK.
