Hello ACWE and friends,
We've enjoyed seeing you during our Spring Masterclass series! We have our
final masterclass scheduled for this Tuesday, April 20 at 7:30 pm with
Chastine Hofmeister, clarinet professor at Collin College and second
clarinetist with the Monroe and Longview Symphony Orchestras. Her
presentation will cover two main topics:
- How to approach transcriptions of orchestral works in a concert band
setting
- All about reeds!: topics related to reed selection and care, cane
reeds vs. plastic reeds, reed hygiene, etc.
The second half of the masterclass will be more relevant to single-reed
players, but anyone who is curious about this often befuddling aspect of
playing the clarinet or saxophone is welcome to stay and listen in!
As always, please feel free to invite anyone who might be interested in
this masterclass - all are open to the public. We look forward to seeing
you Tuesday evening.
