Hi Rachael
Yes I'm still the co-ordinator thanks for getting in touch, I'm aware of
activity in London and some of the London Boroughs and Oxfordshire has
registered but no events yet. Last year we had 2 places but in 2019 it was the
highest for years at about 20 including mobility actions. We are just happy
that organisations create their own events like Living Streets and then
register on the EMW website. This year with COP26 its even more important that
cities and towns make a statement about clean and sustainable transport. Play
streets are a great way to promote EMW
If you want any help I'm only 100 miles to the North and happy to help in any
way
Welcome on board.
Best Wishes
Don

I have recently taken up a new post at Leeds City Council.
We’re planning our activities for World Car Free Day in September. Are you
still the European Mobility Week / Travelwise Week coordinator?
What events/activities are you aware of in the UK for this year? Do you have
any contacts you could share?
I had a look online and there don’t appear to be any registered on the EMW
webpages. Is it your experience that World Car Free Days have taken on their
own differing forms in different locations?! It looks like Living Streets and
others
promote it in their own way too for instance:
https://www.livingstreets.org.uk/about-us/our-work-in-action/world-car-free-day
Leeds already have a Play Streets offer so we’re looking at working with that
and how we can build on it.
Be interested to hear your take on the campaign/events?
Kind regards
Rachael Elliott
