I’ve spotted a couple of other typos… However, it reads well.
In the board call notes, it says that this is a statement that will be linked
to an event that we are progressing around COP26… Shouldn’t we also make this
link clearer, and include some sort of ‘call to arms’?

COP26 is the most important conference to be held in the UK, it offers hope
that we can limit the emissions leading to irreversible climate change. The
largest emitter in the UK is transport, and its not yet reducing. It is also a
major contributor to habitat loss, urban sprawl and the effects of a car based
society contribute to the diseases of inactivity that are threatening to reduce
the gains in life expectancy made over the last 100 years.
The Key Points are
* Emissions from road transport have risen by 6% from 1990 to 2017
against a cut in the UK's overall greenhouse gas emissions since 32%
* 1/5th of the UK's total emissions is from transport and is the largest
emitting sector.
* 328.1 billion miles were driven on Great Britain’s roads in 2018,
similar (0.3% increase) to the previous year (DfT)
* Outdoor air pollution is a major public health issue costing the UK
economy £20bn a year and contributing to over 25,000 deaths a year. (The
Association of Directors of Public Health)
* Whilst ACTTRAVEWISE welcomed the 2019 Clean Air Strategy, greater focus
is needed on addressing the root causes of air pollution and tackling the
inequalities associated with it.
* Road traffic is now increasing again as the lockdown eases.
The move to electric cars will only address trail pipe emissions and while
resolving air pollution will leave health and social problems of inactivity and
exclusion untouched.
COP26 is an opportunity fir the UK and its nations to show the world what can
be done to address the critical issues facing the world by setting an example
as hosts.
* Deliver active travel infrastructure and interventions that have co
benefits to health
* A policy to cut private car use by between 20% and 60% by 2030 which
requires a transition to healthier, greener modes of transport: walking and
cycling; community, public and shared transport such as car, cycle or
e-scooters/bikes sharing schemes Alliance.
* We want to ensure that public, community and shared transport,
alongside and connected with walking and cycling, is prioritised, celebrated
and developed, so everyone can access opportunities, get around, and live their
lives by sustainable means.
* Policy's to support and empower communities, and decision-makers, to
help to unlock the benefits of sustainable and inclusive transport for all.
* Funding for Car Free day events in the run up to COP26.
* Prioritise Travel plans for Business Schools and housing developments
* We want to ensure that public, community and shared transport along
with walking and cycling is prioritised and developed so everyone can access
opportunities and live their lives by sustainable means.
The UK has a great opportunity to showcase its commitment to reversing climate
change, habitat loss, health and wellbeing, community cohesion and resilience,
and sustainable economic development.

We must turn the corner on greenhouse gas emissions in the next decade if we
