What is the advantage of making a facetime audio call vs just making a
normal phone call?

Calls with audio and video use a lot of data, so if you want to facetime
someone on cellular data and your plan does not include a lot of data,
People can use facetime audio, because just audio uses less data then normal
calls with both audio and video.

FaceTime Audio is similar to a voice call only it's done over wifi or 3g and
can only be made to other Apple devices specifically running iOS 7.
Regular FaceTime, the one with video however, includes both audio and video.
It again works over wifi or 3g and can only be made to other Apple devices.
The difference here is regular FaceTime was introduced in iOS 4 so nearly
all of us have regular FaceTime. Only those running iOS
7 will have the new FaceTime Audio.

Subject: accessible-iOS Question about FaceTime Audio

 Good evening all.
Just used FaceTime Audio for the first time when friend and fellow list
member Hannah Day called me on it.
We freaked out initially because of how the audio comes through, which is
via the earpiece. The question therefore is this.
Is there any way at all of using FaceTime audio via speakerphone just like
cellular or normal FaceTime calls? If so how?
 Any responses greatly appreciated. Thanks!
