NEWSWIRE: TEK TALK FEATURES JOSEPH LEE, WINDOWS 10 ANNIVERSARY
THE PAT PRICE ROOM: 8 PM EDT, MONDAY AUGUST 1, 2016
Presentation: Meet Windows 10 Anniversary Update
. Presenter: Joseph Lee
Description:
In mid-2015, technology writer Mary Jo Foley caused a stir when she
announced Microsoft was thinking about the successor to Threshold, or
initial version of Windows 10. This successor, codenamed Redstone, or as
known by the name Windows 10 Anniversary Update or Version 1607, brings
exciting features, such as enhanced Cortana, revamped Action Center, Windows
Subsystem for Linux, reorganized Start menu, Settings and other apps, and
new possibilities through Edge extensions and more. To screen reader users,
the most notable change is vastly improved Narrator with features such as
scan mode, developer mode, improved responsiveness and so forth.
Join Joseph Lee, a Windows Insider and a contributor to NVDA screen reader
project, as he gives you a backstage tour of what's new, changed, fixed and
removed in Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Follow him along as he
demonstrates running Bash on Windows, navigating the newly redesigned Start
menu, demonstrates what's new in Narrator and his impressions of using
third-party screen readers with the latest Windows 10 upgrade. Along the way
he will talk about his experience of running Windows 10 and being a Windows
Insider, and what screen reader developers must do to make Windows 10
support a great one for users.
