Gene

Thanks. I knew it wasn't anything dangerous and besides I didn't install anything. I was just curious about it. I wonder why people do this.

It is a message asking if you want to install a character set for reading a foreign language format. You are seeing this because people are using a character set other than the ones Windows reads by default. It doesn't matter if you install it. You can read the message without doing so. It might matter to a sighted user but I don't know if it would in a case like this where the message is actually written in Western letters and not characters from something like Chinese.

 Arlene

I'm sure it's not a virus. It's been happening too long, and the E-mails are often from people I know. They're not attachments.

Does anyone know why I get E-mails that say something about never install something or other, and there is then a button to install? I hit escape, and I get the message. I know there's nothing wrong with these messages. Some of them are from people that I know are reputable. I've gotten some from lists. I just wonder if anyone knows what this is all about.
