ACCESSIBLE WORLD TEK TALK PRESENTS OUR GAME NIGHT PRESENTATION BY KELLY
SAPERGIA, MONDAY NOVEMBER 25, 2013, 8 PM EST, THE PAT PRICE ROOM:

    NEWSWIRE:

Christmas is almost here, and one gift idea that's popular is computer and
video games. If you're blind or visually impaired, you may be wondering
what's out there for you. While there are lots of new commercial games and
systems being released that have excellent sound, their interfaces may be
hard, if not impossible, to use without sighted assistance, especially if
they involve using controllers with touch screen features. But don't
despair, as there are lots of computer games, both free and shareware, that
blind and visually impaired users can play independently. And thanks to the
accessibility features in iOS and Android devices these days, there are even
more choices for gaming on the go.

Kelly Sapergia has produced reviews and demonstrations of games and other
software products for technology shows on both ACB Radio and The Global
Voice internet radio stations, and has written reviews for Audyssey, a
magazine about games accessible to blind and visually impaired players. On
November 25, he will discuss and demonstrate some of his favorite games for
both the PC and iOS devices. Whether it's running and fighting your way
through an arcade-style side-scroller, enjoying a good text adventure story,
or relaxing with a card or puzzle game, there will be something for everyone
including the gamer on your Christmas list.
