Dear Sir/Madam,
Greetings from Action on Disability and Development (ADD)!
ADD is a UK based non-profit development organization working in Bangladesh
since 1995 to promote the rights of persons with disabilities. Presently ADD
operates in 28 districts, building the capacity of disabled people and
promoting their rights through advocacy. Boosting capacity of the PWDs and DPOs
is one of the prime objectives of ADD through its strong Capacity Cultivating
Thematic Group having experienced and highly skilled professionals.
In its continuous effort to further enhance the capacity of disabled people and
development sector alike, ADD is going to organize a three-day long training
course on ‘Self-help Group Development and Leadership Role’ for development
workers and managers of DPOs/NGOs at ADD Training Centre (ATC) in Rajshahi from
November 09 to 11, 2008. It may be mentioned that ATC is ADD’s own training
centre, equipped with all sophisticated equipment & amenities and with
residential arrangements.
ADD has gained accolades over the last 13 years by providing such trainings
successfully to our partners and some of our colleagues in the development
arena. Now, we are confident that this can be extended and be very effective
for other development partners who are working with rights based approaches.
After the training, we are in no doubt that the participants will have the
capacity to acquire pragmatic depth for developing, functioning and promoting
the self-help groups along with improved and profound understanding of
leadership roles.
The fee for the training is Tk 6,000.00 (Six thousand only) per participant
that is inclusive of training, course materials, boarding and lodging at ATC.
The course outline and a nomination form are attached herewith. Please nominate
appropriate persons for the course. Please note that nominations may be
confirmed by sending the nomination form duly filled in with the course fee, at
least 7 days before the commencement of the course.
