[access-uk] using windows messenger

Hi all.
Aftter a bit of playing around I have stopped using MSN messenger and gone back
to Windows messenger. On the whole I find MSN Messenger slows down the PC and
windows messenger does all I want with the exception of letting me know when I
have new mail in my hotmail account.
However, Windows Messenger blocks sending and receiving of certain file types
it considers dangerous. I have looked for a fix for this on the net but found
nothing so far.
Anyone any ideas?
