Hi Jeff

The Polaris Mini and Polaris have come on remarkably since last year.  I've
got my hands on a Mini, and it's way way better now they have had a couple
of software updates.  You can move around in Android, download apps, and
work within its native suite of applications.  It's very small too, I love
the size and compact design that fits into a handbag just right!

No, it isn't using the latest version of Android, and I have my doubts that
it ever will because it is so far behind.

But if you want something that opens quickly and conveniently on the go,
lets you use Email, word processor, a Chrome browser, read Kindle books etc,
then it's absolutely fine.

But as for knowledge and support, yes that's very concerning given what this
stuff costs.  I tend to deal directly with Hims as I feel the contact person
there is extremely helpful and is blind too.  In the UK though?  Forget it,
same goes for ElBraille and the rest!

Really pleased to hear about the Polaris. 
I saw the 32 cell about a year ago and it seemed really sluggish so has it
improved?
Or is the Mini a different product altogether Also I don't want to be mean
here, but the the company which supplies both the ELBRAILLE and POLARIS
seems to be top-heavy on sales and very light on knowledge?

hi list,
i would go for the braille sense polaris mini or the parlaris 32 cell
model rather than a u 2 which is very much out of date now. i am amazed that
you have never heard of it before but, the polaris does work for me so very
very well and it is so very portable. i tried for ages to connect to my pc
with blue tooth but it will not work it does work doing it by usb and for me
i still love the all in one stand alone devices that one can just pick up
and use. like ian says though all of this costs a lot and is always out of
date.
