Hi Mo,

Write to me for the moment.

As for the Ethernet port, that won't happen until a new model comes out.

There is already web based configuraytion for it at http://www.truecallcontrol.co.uk.

It is the only answering machine also to my knowledge that will actually ring the person back with a single keypress, bypassing the 1471 system, so you don't get charged.

It also has out of hours behaviour, which many of the others don't.

All the best

Hi Steve.

In terms of improvements, who can we write to? I did ring the developers a few months back to suggest improvements to their PA unit but no one really took me on. they could really do with adding an ethernet port and possibly a web interface for web configuration. the PA system needs to have the ability to put people back on hold with music and possibly to record and monitor multiple phone lines. caller ID during call waiting could also be useful.

cheers,

Mo.

Hi David,

What criteria doesn't Truecall meet out of interest? I only ask, because we have the chance to improve it.

Thanks.

Thanks!

I had looked at the Panasonic but hadn't come across anyone using it.
The Truecall I rejected as it doesn't meet the criteria.

The background noise, BTW, is pumps in my brewery which will be putting out
its first products in 3 weeks time.

Hi David.

I ended up going for a Panasonic KXTG8564 set of 4 cordless phones with
built in answering machine. change the last digit for number of handsets
required. The buttons on the base are tactile enough. I don't have any
hearing impairments so the answering machine sounds fine to me, but I
don't know how it would be in your environment. You can enter codes from
the handsets to listen to your messages. the BT response 75+ stand alone
answering machine is not bad either.

cheers,

Mo.

Hi all

As implied in the title, I am looking for an accessible integral handset
and
answering machine.

Talking isn't necessarily a requirement, but usability is imperative in
conjunction with a BT landline.

Possibly in conjunction with wireless handsets, but this isn't essential.
As it may be used in a noisy environment, good audio quality and volume
are
also quite important, but less so if wireless handsets are involved.

Function is imperative, cost is a moderate consideration.
Buy cheap, buy twice!
