I have a Samsung TV bought in the middle of this year which I turned the
speech on by mistake and thinking it might be a useful addition to the TV I
left it on for a fee days after I bought the set. However I soon tuned it
off as it really did get on my nerves. I too found that it was giving me
information that I neither wanted or needed. Needless to say I don't run
it anymore. Having once managed to get it turned off. A task which was more
difficult than I could have imagined before I began the process.

I have a Sony Bravia which doesn't shut up, and has the most irritating high
pitched wine, early Margaret Thatcher, for those of you who are old enough
to remember.
Of all the Tvs I have ever owned it is the most irritating, in every
department.
