Yes it's freeware. The subscription is to the magazine that's hosting it. If the site won't let you download it mail me offlist at johncoley@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and I'll send it to you.

Hi John,

Are you sure that startup cop is a free utility? When I try to download it from the site you provided, the site asks me to subscribe to CMag.com for $19 a year or pay a $7 to be able to download this program. Am I missing something? I couldn't find startup cop on other downloading sites such as download.com either.

Another very good startup manager is Startup Cop. Besides being able to stop things loading it also enables you to remove them if you want to. I've found it very useful, especially since MSConfig hasn't got a cleanup button like it used to have. As with the previous suggestion Startup Cop is freeware. The link to the download page is
