so why did they get rid of the English outlook express spell check support if 
the French support is still there?

  Yes. It's an ongoing problem due to Microsoft removing English spell check 
support from Office 2007/2010 for OE. Solution is to use a third party spell 
checking tool. I use Accu Spell from

  I've used Accu Spell for a couple of years and I am quite happy with it.

    Hi,
    I think this is an ongoing problem as it happened to me when installing 
Office 2007; I was left with the French dictionary only.  I remember that the 
only solution was to get a 3rd party spelling solution.  Sorry for not having 
any fancy way of getting around the problem.
