Hi Jeff
If you decide to go for the Pearl, it definitely does work with K1000 as
I've now done it.
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

hi jeff,
depending which type you want, the canoscan models made by canon are
reasonably priced, very slim and need no external power supply.
alternatively if you wanted the camera style the Ipevo models will work for
you and they have free software especially developed for visually impared
people.
they have 3 models, a basic one that just works as a document scanner, the
other 2 will work as a document scanner as well as being a stand alone
video magnifier with the top model being rechargeable and can be connected
to smart phones for use on the go.
you can find them all on amazon.
pete.
