Hi, I believe the logic box has a fatal flaw when trying to record from it to a
PVR, as it has a so-called auto-standby mechanism.

In practise that means that if you turn off the TV when you've finished
watching via the logic box, after a few hours it will put itself into standby
mode. My box certainly does this within 24 hours.

In standby, it will not output a signal for the PVR to record, so you will have
to activate the box a couple of hours before your PVR starts recording or lose
your entire programme.

If anyone knows how to prevent the logic box putting itself into standby mode
automatically, please let me know.

  Adrian,

see my earlier message in Phil's thread. although we haven't verified this
by trying it, I believe that we will be able to record AD using the Logik
set-top-box connected to our HD/DVD recorder via a scart cable, this is the
same setup you would use for recording to a VCR via Virgin media or sky. So as
long as your recorder has two scart sockets and can record from an external
source (satellite/cable/freeview), which you should be able to check in the
manual) you might well be OK with a recorder and the Logik LDRV3.

Hi - picking up on the recent thread around AD on freeview can anyone
comment on whether the AD carried by enabled freeview receivers can be recorded
using a digital video recorder (DVR). As I understand it the DVR units have
their own built-in freeview receiver so I would assume that it is from this
that the recording is taken and that unless the DVR itself is AD enabled the AD
won't be recorded.

The recent usability survey of DVRs undertaken by ricability didn't include
any DVRs with AD and RNIB don't highlight any on TVHelp.org.uk so I assume
there aren't currently any.
