[access-uk] playing files on an old CD player

I sent some MP3 files to a friend but she can't play them on her old CD player,
which format should they be converted in? I thought there was a format called
CDA but I can't find this on the list on the SWITCH Sound converter plus I
usually use.
Would converting to WAV do?
Hope someone can help as I'd hate to disappoint her again.
