[access-uk] perhaps a tricky question

Hi List,
Here goes.
Is there an application that will allow me to transfer the entire
contents of my internal hard drive to an external drive including
settings, e mail client and partitions, that is, recovery software etc.
I ask this because a few months ago, owing to an emergency I had to
replace a 1TB internal drive with a 3Tb drive, but really all I really
need in there is a 500GB drive. Therefore freeing up a 3TB drive for
external use.
Any thoughts?
