Hi Ian,
Orbit does indeed have Bluetooth. Android certainly supports it already in the
form of Brailleback, and I have little doubt that iOS supports it too, so it is
not just a stand alone device.
It does have a noe taker in it though.
All the best
Steve

As far as I’m aware it is a stand alone device whose content is stored on an SD
card. I don’t think it has bluetooth. But having said that, when I researched a
piece for In Touch this time last year about its apparent disappearance, RNIB
was extremely silent on the subject. Thankfully I was able to talk to others of
the international consortium including Neil Jarvis who will be known to many of
you who all proved to be much more open about the project. But I suspect the
recent Bodyguard TV series wasn’t in development as long as Orbit has been.

Do we know how much RNIB will be seling this for?
Is it a stand-alone device or is it used in conjunction with the phone orr PC?

Hi Jackie,
The Orbit reader is a braille note taker and reader, which is on sale in the
USA and Australia. The RNIB is meant to be selling this product, but so far
though they have invested money into it, they have not yet put it on sale here.
David.

Hi Janet
I wasn’t aware S and S would be selling it. I don’t know of any other product
by the name of Orbit.
Kind regards,

what is the difference between the orbit that sight and sound sell and the
orbit reader that the r.n.i.b. is going to sell? Janet
