so, why do you say it is not going to be developed anymore? If this is the case, guys like you should advise us on the best way to go forward, to give an alternative, not to scare us with thoughts like, soon, we won't be protected adequately from the nasties of the cyber world, after all, we paid for the product, isn't our money used for its development? It's ok for experts like you, you will always fall back on your feet or when one of those nasties get to you, you have the knowledge, the contacts to help you get you out of trouble. Some of us rely on a list like this for advice to maintain and protect our machine, not a luxury or a leisure device but a vital piece of equipment allowing us to get by as independently as we can. So, come on, do your homework for us, tell us to go for when or before Nod is no more. If you don't know what the best to go for, don't, even if you source is reliable say Nod's days are numbered, it just doesn't serve any purpose.

No it's not really the accessiblechoice nowadays. I've used Windows Firewall for a number of years and touch wood I haven't been hacked, but I admit I need a better one. My antivirus I use is AVG 8 Free which is pretty good and accessible. Hope this helps. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx msn: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx skype: chrishallsworth7266 klango: chrishallsworth----- Original Message ----- From: "Damon" <damon.rose@xxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, October 07, 2008 10:46 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: nod32 installation issueThanks Chris. So is Nod32 not the accessible antivirus software of choice any longer? And if it is, should I go for the full security suite and not just the antivirus? Or is the windows built-infirewall good enough? Any thoughts appreciated. So I went ahead and clicked to finish the installation. It has I think now installed successfully but there are no menus, no way of looking through it, no accessible way of finding an option to change ittoa non graphical interface. If anyone can help me, it'd be much appreciated. Note I am using jaws 10 with the very latest download from the website.Perhaps I downloaded the wrong product and I needed the fullsecurity suite it talks about? Any help appreciated.Rather disappointed as had hoped it would be my saviour after my very bad experiences with Mcafee. ...Damon** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faqGet your FREE SECURE email account from http://www.topmail.co.uk ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3504 (20081008) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq__________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3505 (20081008) __________The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com
