HI Martin
I have had this problem too.
1. If you are using JAWS, press Insert+3 to activate the bypass function.
2. Press Control +Alt +Home. This opens the "select Browse Object" menu.
That should sort you out.
James
yes, I'm in the edit text window when this happens, just reading as normal,
when I want to go up and down a page, word tries to search for the deleted
item in the search pain.
Hope to hear from you soon.
From Martin.

: HI list:
: I hope someone can help.
: this has been a real pest to me for some time, but when I'm seareching for
: something in a word document, say the word hawthorn for example, and I've
: found the word, and I wish to go to a previous or next page without
: searching for the word hawthorn. The programme won't let me do this.
Even
: if I clear the search box it stil tries to search for something. Is there
a
: way of clearing the boxes without exiting word?
:
: thanks.
