You can edit mp3 tags in windows explorer by selecting a track or number of tracks and then pressing alt and enter to open the properties dialogue. When the dialogue is opened, press control and tab to go to the summary tab. Tab once to the advanced button and press spacebar to activate it. If you don't see an advanced button then you already have the advanced view enabled and so press shift and tab to get back into the list of tag details. You can now arrow up and down until you find the specific tags you want to change. For example, if you want to change artist, simply key the new value you want when positioned on artist and press enter. If you selected more than one track to do a batch update then you'll have to press enter again to update all tracks.
Alternatively, you already have a great tag editor in windows media player. You'll need to add your music to the library by pressing function key F3 when in media player and browsing to your music folder. Once you have your music in the library simply tab into the tree view to the tracks you want to update and use the applications key to reveal the context menu containing the edit tag option.
If you don't like either of the above you could try mp3tag editor which is freeware and works quite well.
